Typeface is an important element of our visual identity.
Marketing and Advertising Materials (Print)
The official University typeface for all forms of printed promotional materials is Swiss 721 BT.
It can be used in various forms - e.g. light, medium, bold or italics - to suit design requirements.
The “roman” version is intended for normal use (i.e. body text) and the “bold” version is utilised for headings. Italics may be used for emphasis, but please minimise its use in promotional material.
The font is already held by the following creative agencies: Tank and Campus Graphics.
It is available for purchase by graphic designers or staff, where required, from www.fontshop.com:
Swiss 721 Light (Light/Light Italic)
Swiss 721 Medium (Medium/Medium Italic)
Swiss 721 (Roman/Roman Italic and Bold/Bold Italic)
Internal Communications
For internal communications, Arial is the preferred typeface.
Arial is a standard font issued with Microsoft Office. Font size 10 is the recommended size for body text, but this may be altered according to need.
Arial is also the default font for urgent or short print run external communications, where the Swiss typeface is unavailable.
Web and Electronic Communications
The typefaces utilised for the corporate website and recommended for electronic communication are Arial and Verdana. For the corporate website, font and size are set by the style sheets.
For more information on corporate web templates, please refer to the web style guide produced by Online Services. |
