To the University community,

La Trobe University has recently undergone a process to revitalise the University’s visual identity and brand messages. The results of this process are contained in this web-based style guide, which will ensure that all references to the University in the marketplace are clear and consistent.

It is important to become familiar with this style guide, as it articulates our brand promise, messages, culture and tone of voice, and explains the particulars of where and how the branding elements can be used.

The visual standards outlined in this style guide ensure that communications from every faculty, campus, division and centre speak with a clear and uniform voice that best represents the image and brand of the University.

The style guide covers proper usage of the La Trobe University corporate logo, as well as applications of the visual identity to publications, stationery, signage, and other collateral requirements. Recommendations on how and when to use the infinity symbol and the brand line “Infinite Possibilities” are also included. Some of the new identity materials and the La Trobe University editorial style guide are available for download.

The new corporate stationery designs — letterhead, envelopes, business cards, with compliments, etc — make a distinction between formats for individuals, administrative units and areas that require a “sub-brand” or brand extension to be applied. All corporate stationery is available for ordering from Campus Graphics.
